“I used to do wigs in my basement,” she said.
“The boy who lived down the street, who is now a councilman by the way, used to deliver them in big white boxes.”
“The hair was connected to a piece of canvas and you had to make sure it dried right so it fit when it was returned.”
“And I only had one head in each size, so if I got a lot of 21s at once, it got a little tricky.”
“Then he came back to pick them up.”
The bus came, she waved goodbye, then she was gone.
